Ayumi Hamasaki's nineteenth single, M, was released in 2001 to promote her first compilation album, A BEST. It marks her first release as a composer (under the name "CREA," after one of her dogs). The single sold over a million copies, over 500,000 of which were in the first week of its release. It also appeared on her fourth album, I am.... The single's tracklist is as follows:
